  • Getting Clean means more than stopping taking drugs. Getting Clean is an ethos based in being conscious of harmful chemicals and taking care for your personal body and environmental surroundings. Addiction has an appetite for moral values and often erodes peoples’ care for themselves and the environment. Our soap helps to support people recovering from addiction through real funding and lived-experience organisations. Our product embodies this ethos by cutting out unnecessary, harmful chemicals found in many mass produced cosmetic products.

  • Yes. Our soaps are made with carefully chosen ingredients and are free from PFAS, triclosan, and other harsh synthetic chemicals commonly found in personal care products.

We believe if it doesn’t belong on your body, it doesn’t belong in your shower.

  • No. Never. Our products are cruelty-free and responsibly made.

  • We donate profits to addiction recovery charities and lived-experience organisations. That means every purchase helps fund real support, not just awareness campaigns or vague promises. Details on our partners and impact are shared transparently. Honestly, we’re still in the early stages of growth but when we start pumping profits and donating big, we’ll be publishing it in our company accounts and sharing the evidence on our website.

  • Our soaps are made without common irritants and harsh chemicals, but everyone’s skin is different. If you have specific sensitivities or allergies, check the ingredient list or consult a professional before use.

  • Yes. We regularly share ways to support addiction recovery organisations directly, learn more about harm reduction, or spread the word. Soap is just one entry point. If you want to get involved email us at enquiries@gettingclean.co.uk

  • We’re not quiet about the good stuff we do in the community and the support we fund for recovering addicts. Just follow our social media channels and subscribe to our newsletters if you want to see.

We will publish updates about our donations and impact as we grow. Transparency matters - especially when real lives are involved.

  • Although we are not certified organic, we strive to make our products with naturally derived ingredients.

  • We see our soap as a Unisex product. Doesn’t matter if you’re a man, woman, non-binary or drag queen.

I mean c’mon guys. Do you really need your soap to reconfirm your gender? What even is gender anyway?

If you’re so insecure that you need your soap to make you feel ‘manly’, with a scent that women are attracted to but do not use themselves, you should probably see a therapist.

  • All of our soap is made in Britain. We are a UK registered Community Interest Company with our main production base in Leeds, Yorkshire.

  • If you want exfoliation, we’d recommend the peppermint seaweed and kelp. Or if you can’t handle that minty tingle, go for any of the soaps with charcoal.

  • From our customer feedback and our own experience, we’d say our soaps last 3 weeks on average with daily use. But obviously, it really depends how much you’re scrubbing!

  • Yes. All of our products are sulphate-free.

We don’t use sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), sodium laureth sulphate (SLES) or ammonium lauryl sulphate (ALS) in any of our formulas — across haircare, body care, or hand washes.

We’re deliberate about what goes in (and what stays out), choosing ingredients that are gentle, effective, and kind to both skin and the planet.

  • No. We don’t use sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) or sodium laureth sulphate (SLES) in any of our products.

  • Yes — 100%.

We don’t use parabens in any of our formulas.

  • Yes. Although we haven’t yet paid for a fancy official certificate, we check our suppliers’ supply chains and manufacturing processes to ensure that no animal products are included. That task is not really too difficult for us since our ingredients lists are really short.

  • Yes. Putting alcohol in our soaps would be completely off-brand for us. Whether it’s alcohol, triclosan or cocaine, our soaps are completely abstinent from harmful chemicals just like the people who make them!
